HUNDREDS of people are expected to gather on Rowlands Castle recreation ground tomorrow (Saturday) for the annual village fireworks display at 7pm.
Organised by the Rowlands Castle Association, visitors will enjoy more than just a firework display, as there will be fairground rides and hot food and drinks served up by Rowlands Castle scouts. Entry is £5 and gates open at 5.30pm. Villagers are asked to walk to the venue as there is limited parking.
Meanwhile The George Inn at Finchdean is putting on a firework display, bonfire and barbecue, also on Saturday, from 6pm.
In Droxford there will be a bonfire with fireworks on the recreation ground opposite the junior school on Saturday, starting at 5pm, with hot dogs, mulled wine, ginger cake, soft drinks, flapjacks and more on sale, with all proceeds going to the recreation ground pavilion.
Denmead Scouts are putting on a firework display at their hut in Kidmore Lane. Gates open at 6pm for refreshments and the display starts at 7pm.
Winchester Scouts are putting on a firework display in Colden Common Park, off Boyes Lane. Refreshments will be available. Adult tickets £4, children £1, available from the Post Office and Rising Sun.
