HARTING?Festivities, taking place this year on Monday, May 29, has been going since the 1800s.
But the event in South Harting is celebrating 57 years in its current form – and the usual exciting line-up is planned for the hordes of Bank Holiday visitors expected to attend.
The traditional funfair of yesteryear has been replaced with attractions including a dog show, fancy dress parade, fun run, street entertainers and stalls.
The fun starts at 11am and carries on until 4pm.
The dog show is at 11.30am in Church Farm paddock, and the fancy dress will be judged at 11.40am – on the theme of ‘People of the World’ – followed by a parade.
The fun run starts from the church gates at 12.30pm, there is have-a-go dog agility at 1pm, and children’s storytelling in the churchyard at 2.30pm.
Entertainment will come from the Horndean Band, A Choir Named Dave, Knockhundred Shuttles and Jesterical.
