THE LISS Heart Trust has installed defibrillators in both the infant school and the junior school in Liss, and many of the people who did not have prior training in the use of such equipment have now been taught how to use it.

Liss Junior School headteacher Jilly Myers said: “We’ve had the training and we’re happy we’ve got the defibrillator here. It’s perfect.”

In addition to the two units installed in the schools, five other defibrillators are located in and around Liss.

These are at Rake Tennis Club, the Flying Bull, Newman Collard, Tesco Express and St Mary’s Church.

For anyone interested in learning how to use this equipment the Liss Heart Trust is now offering free coaching, to be held locally.

The lesson typically lasts about one hour and is taught by an experienced nursing professional.

Anyone who would like to participate in this programme should e-mail Colin Anderson at: [email protected] and state a preference out of attending coaching in the morning, afternoon or evening.
