HEADTEACHER at The Petersfield School (TPS) is advising parents who drop off their children by car to look at other transport options as roadworks by the school entrance begin.

The entrance is just yards from The Causeway, where a junction is being formed to allow access to the new 200-home Causeway Park estate on the eastern side of the road.

The work on the junctiomn began on Monday and is expected to take 16 weeks, during which time there will be lane closures, temporary traffic lights and delays.

Headteacher Mark Marande said: “We anticipate significant disruption and would recommend exploring alternative travel options.”

Anyone with concerns about how the new junction is being constructed is invited to contact the head office of developers Barrat David Wilson Homes and ask for the construction secretary. The developers can be contacted on 01489 779200.
