STAFF at a Petersfield dental surgery are baking cupcakes and inviting everyone to pop in and try them - all in the name of charity.

The team at Sixty-Six Dental Surgery in Station Road is hoping cupcake day on Tuesday, June 19, will help fill the coffers of the Alzheimer’s Society and Marie Curie, a charity which helps terminally ill people.

Dr Adam Jones, of the practice, said: “We’ve chosen to support these two charities because of the amazing work they do in the community. We thought it would be fun to do some baking in return for donations.

“Going by previous baking days, I know our staff are a talented bunch and we’re all in for a treat.

“This is an all-day event and open to the public. Just pop in, make a donation and enjoy the tasty treats.. we even supply a box to take them home, and yes, we are well aware of the irony of a dental practice selling cakes, but in our defence - everything in moderation and it’s all for a good cause.”
