A MAN who approached dog walkers claiming to be an East Hampshire District Council (EHDC) officer is nothing to do with the authority, said the council.
On Friday, March 24, people out with their pets on Petersfield Heath say they were spoken to by a man with a clipboard claiming he worked for the council.
He then went onto say that in future dog walkers not carrying bags for dog mess were liable to be fined.
On Facebook, one walker said the man even produced a council identity card.
An EHDC spokesman said that the man wasn’t a council officer.
And he added that the council had no intention of imposing fines on those not carrying dog mess bags.
