EIGHTEEN business people from Liss attended a coffee morning to meet each other and catch up on the latest news to affect business in the village.

The event was hosted by Mint Design Connections in Mainline Business Centre, which has a ground floor office space available for rental.

The group heard about opportunities for profile-raising such as the village Christmas fayre where they plan to take a stall.

Members’ news included publication of a new children’s book about Victoria, the steam engine, a new travel advice drop-in session with Norad Travel at the Turtle Bean cafe on the third Tuesday of each month, and Kerstin Ochel’s designs for clothing and jewellery, which will be on show at the arts and crafts exhibition at the Triangle from Wednesday, October 26, to Saturday, October 30.

Plestor House action coach Keith Gilbey, who was attending for the first time, said: “I thought that the meeting was great – it would be fantastic to see Liss really put on the map as a place to grow a business.

“It was good to reconnect with some old friends and meet some new entrants to the world of local business. This part of Hampshire really does have a lot going for it.”

Liss Connected brings together business people from Liss for mutual support, and aims to profile local businesses to local people.

The next event planned will be a Christmas lunch in December, followed by a meeting in February. Anyone who would like more information should e-mail: [email protected] or join LissConnected on Facebook and Twitter.
