CHILDREN are being encouraged to dress up as their favourite Peter Pan characters for a special half-term showing of the magical Pan (PG).

This is on at the New Savoy Cinema at the Festival Hall, Petersfield, on Tuesday, February 16, at 10.30am for 11am.

Tickets are £5 but children under 3 go free if they do not require a seat. All children under 12 will receive a good bag.

Also on that day, at 2pm for 2.30pm, at the venue is Amy (15), one of the most talked about documentaries of last year, chronicling the turbulent short life of singer Amy Winehouse.

Film buffs in Buriton should head for the village hall on Friday, February 5, at 7pm for 7.30pm, for Suffragette (12A), starring Carey Mulligan, Helena Bonham Carter and Meryl Streep.

This is the powerful story of how women of the early feminist movement fought tirelessly and sacrificed everything - their marriages, children, jobs and even their lives - to secure the vote.

It focuses on the laundry worker, played with spirit and sensitivity by Carey Mulligan, who just won’t give up.
