YOUNGSTERS in Petersfield and across East Hampshire who are taking part in this years’ Summer Reading Challenge are being reminded there is still time for them to reach their goal.

Although the closing date of September 12 is fast approaching there is still time for them to complete the challenge, or even start it, said a Hampshire County Council (HCC) libraries spokesman.

HCC spokesman Chris Perry said: “The challenge, for children aged four to 11-years-old, takes place in libraries every year. The aim is to read or listen to six library books, so earning stickers on the way and a certificate with a medal if the challenge is completed.”
