ON behalf of East Hampshire residents, East Hampshire District Council has offered sympathy and condolences to the family of MP Jo Cox who died on Thursday after being attacked in the street of Birstall near Leeds.

Deputy leader of EHDC Cllr Richard Millard said: “Councillors, staff and people across East Hampshire are shocked at the senseless death of Jo Cox MP. All of us in public service will want to reflect on her commitment and sacrifice. Our thoughts are with her family at this time, and the Union flag at the council offices is flying at half-mast today.”
