EAST Hampshire residents are being warned by police to look out for cold callers claiming to be builders who say work needs doing on their house roof.
East Hampshire Police Community Support Officer Tria Gibbs said: “Please be aware that there are persons in the area who are calling at addresses and telling you there is a problem with your roof.
“They are knocking on doors and giving the resident leaflets and we are asking all East Hampshire residents to especially careful and also look out for your elderly neighbours who they may try and convince there is something wrong with the roof or other parts of the building.
“If you do have any building work that needs to be done please go through a recommendation from a friend or a building company in your area.”
