PATIENTS in East Hampshire are in good hands as five of the county’s top ten GP practices are in the district.

The results of the 2023 GP Patient Survey make good reading for surgery staff and their patients with East Hampshire practices dominating the upper reaches of the table.

Some 760,000 patients took part nationally and were asked for details and feedback on local GP services, making and reviewing appointments, their personal health and overall experience.

Top of the pile is Rowlands Castle Surgery with 93.7 per cent of the 118 respondents describing their overall experience of the practice as “good” or “very good”.

The Village Practice in Cowplain isn’t far behind in second while the bronze medal goes to the Riverside Partnership in Liss with 93 per cent calling the Station Road practice “good” or “very good”.

“We’re very pleased to hear that because we work very hard to do to the best job we can for our patients,” said medical receptionist Penny Adair, speaking on behalf of the practice, adding: “It’s a very happy team we’ve got here.”

One of the best places to see a GP in Hampshire is definitely Four Marks and Medstead as the villages have two practices in the top ten.

Mansfield Park is at number six with 91.5 per cent of 113 patients giving the practice high marks, while Boundaries got the eighth spot with an overall rating of 90.7 per cent.

Nestling between the pair is Petersfield’s Grange Surgery with a 90.9 per cent overall rating from 112 respondents. A good 76 per cent of patients also found it easy to contact the practice by phone compared to just 50 per cent nationally.
