EAST Meon Church of England Primary School pupils enjoyed an ‘electric’ Mad Science day.

National Grid has been reinforcing electricity pylons near the village and engaged Mad Science to deliver electricity-themed workshops for pupils.

‘Super Sian’ demonstrated a variety of tricks – from defying gravity with static electricity to creating a giant human circuit.

Older pupils learnt the science behind static, and some even electrified their hair with a Van De Graaff generator.

School headteacher Amy O’Toole said: “They had a great time seeing static electricity in action. We’re grateful to National Grid for making it possible.”
