HOUSEHOLDERS in the Petersfield area are being offered up to £7,000 towards the cost of solid wall insulation.

This eco measure could save up to £455 off heating bills for a house in the first year, says the E.ON company.

Homes typically lose around a third of their heat through uninsulated walls and homes with solid walls, usually built before 1930, could be losing up to twice as much heat as those with cavity walls.

So E.ON is urging people in selected areas of Petersfield, Liss and Alton to find out if they are eligible for the discounted solid wall insulation being offered as part of its commitment to the government’s Energy Company Obligation (ECO) Scheme.

Free property assessments are being offered.

Said Nick Cooper, energy efficiency expert from E.ON: “With winter now on its way, we’re keen to ensure people know what they can do to help keep their homes warm and their energy bills under control.”
