LIVING in the trendy part of town, Tamar Broadbent has become nervous about leaving her house.

There must be more to life than dodging hipsters and envying gym girls, she reasons.

And this provides the premise for the award-winning comedy songwriter’s new show she is unveiling at Petersfield Comedy Club, at the Folly Wine and Ale House on Monday, August 1, before taking it to the Edinburgh Festival.

She describes it as about “over-sharing, over-shaving and embracing life without a filter”, and it follows on from the success of All By My Selfie which she also took north of the border, and to Adelaide and Lithuania.

Closing the show, with another 45 minute set, is the “gloriously insane Aussie whirlwind”, John Robertson.

His show description is nothing if not to the point –?“Dirty jokes! Nice suit! Sit near the front!”.

His infectious, seemingly random stream of consciousness has been developed over 13 years into an art form all of its own, says Chaz Collett of Barking Mad Comedy which runs the club.

Tickets are £6 in advance from the Folly Bar, and £7 on the door. Food is served from 6.30pm to 9pm.
