PETERSFIELD residents who are struggling to put food on their tables have been given a helping hand by pupils at a Steep school.

Terry Doubleday, from Petersfield Food Bank, was one of the special guests when Dunannie hosted its harvest celebration. The vicar of Steep, the Rev John Owen, and residents from Steep Nursing Home also attended with several parents and grandparents of pupils.

The event included a display of shoeboxes which Dunannie pupils filled for food bank recipients. A talk was given by Bedales student Marcus Bugge, who has launched a weekly food collection for the food bank as part of his Global Awareness Bedales Assessed Course.
