YEAR 6 pupils at Churcher’s College Junior School were transported back in time when they set off for the Milestones Living History Museum in Basingstoke.
Soon they were wandering through Victorian streets – along the cobblestones and peering into the windows of shops to admire the new gadgets and fashions which would have been on sale at the time.
The children enjoyed riding on the tram, building a viaduct, sorting luggage and dressing up in Victorian clothing. The children met Maggie, who took them into her Victorian ‘back to back terrace’. The children also exchanged coins for old pennies and had a go on the penny arcade slot machines.
