HIGHFIELD and Brookham Schools in Liphook had an enjoyable day celebrating World Book Day.

Everybody embraced the day, including the teachers who dressed in a multitude of amazing outfits such as Fantastic Mr Fox, Edward Scissorhands, Where’s Wally, The Queen of Hearts, Mary Poppins and a variety of Mr Men and Little Miss characters.

The children, not to be outdone, arrived in an array of costumes.

Alice in Wonderland, Willy Wonker, Cruella de Vil and a Dalmatian, lots of Harry Potters, James and The Giant (homemade) Peach, princesses and pirates, superheroes and witches, were just a few of the characters to be seen at the Liphook schools.

As experienced storytellers, thanks to the Talk 4 Writing approach used at the school, children at Brookham, Pre-Prep and Nursery, were encouraged to bring in their favourite stories to tell to their friends, and the older children at Highfield relished the opportunity to show off their knowledge of books by entering a variety of book-related competitions.

This was such a fun and educational day for both schools and the children are looking forward to doing it all again next year.
