STUDENTS studying at Godalming have been celebrating their impressive A level results.

Milly Jonas, from Petersfield, achieved three A*s in English literature, history and philosophy and an A* for an?Extended Project Qualification, having studied at Godalming College.

Milly went to The Petersfield School and has no background with ancient history or the classics but she investigated this by taking part in a summer school run by the Summer Schools Trust which promotes the teaching of the classics.

She has been accepted to study classical archaeology and ancient history at Oxford. Eight students gained places at Oxford or Cambridge and eight others will be taking up places on either medicine or veterinary courses.

College principal Emma Young said: “Once again, Godalming College students have performed at the highest levels. The results are excellent and exceed national benchmarks.

“The consistency of our performance is testament to the dedication and expertise of our teachers who have worked really hard to ensure that the students were fully prepared for their exams.”
