PETERSFIELD Infant School pupils and staff helped construct a living willow dome in the school grounds which should provide pleasure for generations of children to come.

Willow saplings can be cut and replanted almost anywhere, and then bent into shape and lashed using willow ‘whips’ to a frame, then the fast growing tree grows over the dome frame to create a ‘living’ structure.

At the school in St Peter’s Road, the dome and its willow covering was created by Ganesh and Elaine Kings, from Creative Willow Structures, who also ran workshops during their week at the school.
