A STUDENT from The Petersfield School has taken part in a foreign language spelling bee.

Beth?Walker, a Year 7 pupil, travelled to the University of Cambridge for the national finals of the Foreign Language Spelling Bee.

More than 60,000 pupils entered the competition and only 104 made it to the final round.

Beth took part in the German section of the competition and managed to translate and spell 20 words in just a minute.

Just one or two words came between Beth and the top four pupils who were taking part.
