HERNE Junior School pupils met Environment Secretary Elizabeth Truss, at Buster Ancient Farm last week.

The minister was launching a drive to encourage more schools to take their pupils to national parks. For the launch, pupils from the Petersfield school were filmed by the BBC enjoying activities on the farm at Chalton.

Phoebe Clifton (11), of Mimosa class, said: “I was nervous being on television. But it was fun.”

Callum Smith (9) added: “We’ve had a brilliant time, it’s better than school – if we could do this every day I would be happy.”
