STUDENTS have been rewarded for their efforts in the last academic year at a special prizegiving evening.
Nearly 100 students from Years 7 to 10 from The Petersfield School were joined by their parents at The Festival Hall.
Newly-appointed head boy Callum King and head girl Safa Amin opened the event by welcoming everyone and then introducing the guest speaker, former student Becky Lavender.
Becky presented the prizes to the students and delivered a presentation on how she went from an A* student at the school to a games programmer at Playtonic where she works with leading people in the industry.
Principal Mark Marande spoke with pride at the pupils’ achievements.
He said: “We have a culture of high performance here at TPS and we love to celebrate achievement.
“Since joining the school I have been consistently impressed with the students and their fantastic approach to their studies.
“The prize winners were selected for excellent achievement in each of their subjects and we wanted to recognise their huge dedication with a memorable evening of celebration.”
Year 9 violinist Pradip Tran gave a performance of Bach’s Gigue from Partita No 2. Meanwhile, the Senior Choir entertained with Coldplay’s Fix You and City of Stars, from Hollywood blockbuster La La Land.
