PETERSFIELD students are enjoying success at ballet, as cadets, with the Duke of Edinburgh awards, and as members of the UK Youth Parliament.

Head boy at The Petersfield School (TPS) Callum King has been elected as UK Youth Parliament member for Hart, Rushmoor and East Hants, with Jessica Minton of Year 9 as his deputy.

And some of last year’s Year 11 students gained a 100 per cent pass rate for their Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award hiking and kayaking expeditions along the River Thames.

Winning through a very competitive ballet audition means Year 8 student Maisy Wright (12) will be dancing in Coppelia at the Kings Theatre, Southsea.

The school in Cranford Road has also launched its own Combined Cadet Force, with 15 students being presented with armed forces berets by TPS headteacher Mark Marande.
