PETERSFIELD Police Cadet unit is looking for new members to join when regular activities are able to resume.

The Police Cadet Scheme is a uniformed youth group supported by Hampshire Constabulary, where young people can learn about policing, develop as individuals and actively support their community.

Police cadets are issued with a uniform and attend weekly evening sessions during term time, when they learn about a wide range of police topics.

In addition, the cadets volunteer with the local policing team on local initiatives and community events.

Unit spokesman Police Sergeant Christine Plascott said: “We also hold inter-unit camps and competitions, provided to the cadets at no cost.

“If you are between 13 and 17 years old and have an interest in policing and developing your skills, the Cadet Scheme has so much to offer.”

The Petersfield Unit meet every Wednesday during term time from 6pm to 8pm at The Petersfield School and we hope to be able to resume our activities in the autumn.
