FORTY pupils from Churcher’s College Junior School (CCJS) took part in a triangular XC competition involving 120 pupils, at Highfield School.
The event was split into three different races and catered for children ranging from Year 3 to Year 8.
After a quick event brief, the first race consisting of 39 Year 3 pupils got under way. William Bailey from CCJS finished in first place, with Oliver Foulkes in third and Sam Hinsley in fifth. Race two involved 50 competitors from Years 4 and 5, with 18 runners from CCJS. Vinnie Hall led the charge for CCJS and finished in 11th place. Felix Brockdorff was 14th, Archie Rushin was 16th, Theo Heyworth was 17th and Wesley Mercer was 18th. The final race had 38 competitors, including 11 Year 6 runners from CCJS. Jasper Shine finished in sixth place, with Darcia Scott 24th.
