PLAYING to a packed studio, Year 4 from Churcher’s College Junior School performed a musical treat for their parents and friends.
Alice the Musical by Mark and Helen Johnson is a fun packed show based on the Lewis Carroll classic with many alternative characters as well as those that are known and loved from the original story.
The children were all bursting with enthusiasm on the night after a rather tricky dress rehearsal in which some things, as is traditional, just didn’t go to plan. However, a lick of makeup and the roar of the crowd certainly made a difference and the performance was lifted to a whole new level with everyone thoroughly enjoying themselves and wholeheartedly becoming involved in the story.
There were countless strong performances both from the main characters and those with the smaller roles. However, it was a real team effort all round and the children really pulled together to make the show a great success both musically, visually and dramatically on what was a wonderful evening all round.
Show director Mrs Moore said: “I was so proud of all their efforts. It was a long and complicated show but they really threw themselves into it and pulled it off in style. Very well done indeed.”
