PUPILS, staff and parents have proudly unveiled a special sculpture outside the front of their school.

Staff and pupils at Sheet Primary School spent a year gathering ideas and designs, fundraising and collaborating with a local artist to place a sculpture in its pride of place.

A whole school competition took place which led to the children defining ideas of possible shapes and designs they wanted. The winning sketch by Lily Weller caught the judge’s eye as it depicted the four birds of the school’s classes; Robins, Kingfishers, Herons and Kestrels.

The sculpture was unveiled by the deputy mayor of Petersfield, Hilary Ayer, in front of a crowd of pupils, parents and members of the parish council.
