SHOPPERS at Waitrose helped swell the coffers of Buriton Primary School.

It was one of three good causes supported by the Waitrose Community Matters scheme during the summer.

And when the green tokens in its collection box were counted, the High Street school received £418 from the supermarket.

Headteacher Danielle Brown said: “The children and staff were delighted to be presented with a cheque for £418, which was kindly donated to our Friends Association.

“We were very pleased to receive this cheque, which will go into our school budget to help maintain the high quality provision we have for the children in our school.”
