ALTON School Nursery has been awarded an ‘outstanding’ rating by Ofsted for its Early Years Foundations Stage provision.

The inspection, which was carried out at the beginning of January, rated five key areas: quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development and leadership and management.

All achieved ‘outstanding’, resulting in an overall effectiveness rating of ‘outstanding’.

Sarah Harvey, the director of nursery, said: “We are thrilled to have been rated outstanding in all areas.

“I’d like to say well done to the team and a heartfelt thank you to our parents for supporting us and to the children for making our Alton School Nursery community so special.”

Headmaster Karl Guest said: “This is testament to the dedication of all our nursery staff, who go above and beyond for our very youngest.

“I am thrilled the report recognised the ‘excellent levels of care’ and the ‘high quality of support’ by staff to ensure each child progresses well and is understood.”
