THE QUALITY Care Commission has awarded Treloar College an overall rating of ‘outstanding’.

The report was based on a full inspection in the summer of the Alton college attended by students from across north-east Hampshire.

The inspection focused on Treloar’s residential accommodation, healthcare provision and support for students outside their educational curriculum.

Treloar headteacher Martin Ingram said: “I am delighted that the inspectors have recognised the outstanding commitment and professionalism of our staff across the organisation.

“They have confirmed that Treloar’s is one of the leading organisations in the country and that our support for young people is exceptional.”

The Treloar Trust was founded by Sir William Purdie Treloar while he was Lord Mayor of the City of London in 1906.

Today it supports Treloar School for pupils aged two to 16 years old, and Treloar College, which supplies further education for students aged 16 years old and above.

Both provide specialist education, care, therapy, medical support, independence training and opportunities for young people with physical disabilities.
