Weydon School raised an impressive £2,875 at its annual Children in Need fundraiser.

Organised by the Year 11 student leaders, the theme this year was video games.

Students donated to wear their own clothes or to dress up – and some truly entered into the spirit of the event with costumes varying from retro Tetris and Pac-Man to firm favourite FIFA.

Students organised fundraising activities from karaoke and video games to throwing sponges at teachers in the stocks and selling popcorn, candyfloss and other treats. They also led a playground flash mob.

The substantial sum raised shows just what a difference a group of people can make when they all come together with a shared purpose.
