LISS Triangle Centre manager Sally Tanner has stepped down after six years in the role.

Sally’s last day at the Triangle was last Friday – and she admitted it was hard to say goodbye.

Sally said: “I do feel quite sad actually. People have been so nice and have been wishing me well, so I do feel quite emotional.”

The Triangle has gone from strength to strength over the last six years, and Sally paid tribute to her colleagues and all of the volunteers.

“I think it has changed over the years and it has got busier,” said Sally.

“We’ve made improvements, which have drawn people in.

“I’ve been very lucky. The staff and volunteers are lovely and are all fantastic, which has made my job easier. There is also a good team of trustees.

“I’ve met so many lovely people. It’s a really nice to place to work. The work has been interesting and varied.”

While she may not be working at the Triangle anymore, Sally says she still intends to help where she can.

“I’m going to keep in touch and help with a couple of events,” said Sally.

“If I have time I might also volunteer in the coffee bar.

“The cafe is such a great place.

“I’ll also be at the opening night of the film festival and I’ll also be watching Bridget Jones’s Baby. I’ll be able to have a few drinks as I don’t work here now.”

The new manager at the Triangle is Karen Feeney, and Sally is full of praise for her.

She said: “Karen has got the right experience and I’m sure she’ll take it forward.”

Sally is now going to help her husband develop his growing family-run business, Christian George Garden Landscapes.

She added: “My husband has a landscaping and gardening business and I’ve been drawn into that and I’ll be working in the business.”
