A CHARITY that helps orphans and vulnerable children in Africa is hosting a fundraising walk through the hangers above Selborne.

Care Africa Network of Alresford helps villages look after children who have lost their families, either though disease or natural causes.

Those wishing to join the six mile walk, area sked to meet at 10am on Saturday, October 29, in The Selborne Arms pub on the main through road of the village, parking is available.

Once everyone is registered, walkers will set out in a group with event organiser Francesca Simms.

She said: “The walk will be approximately six miles with some uphill stretches and stiles, and it goes through beautiful areas of the countryside with some lovely views and woodland.

“It will include Selborne Common where we shall enjoy the spectacular view over Selborne and the surrounding countryside before descending the famous zig zag path to Selborne.”

The event is primarily a sponsored walk, but walkers can give a GiftAid donation.
