The first fundraiser hosted at the Half Moon pub in Sheet for the Rosemary Foundation raised £650 for the hospice at home charity in Lavant Street in Petersfield.
It was put on by Entertainment Events of Petersfield who fundraise for local charities; for the past three years it has been Butser Home Start, and for 2023 the chosen charity is the Rosemary Foundation.
Robert Ingram of Entertainment Events said: “This was both our last event for 2022 and the first in our new phase of raising funds for The Rosemary Foundation as the primary beneficiary of Entertainment Events.”
The Christmas at the Musicals show by local theatre company CCADS on December 28 saw the function room at the popular pub transformed into a wonderful theatre for 120 people.
The two-part show with seven performers, directed by and featuring John Paul McCrohan, took the audience through a range of favourite seasonal songs from musicals, films and the charts with solo performances, duets, ensemble performances and some very touching dramatization.
Mr Ingram said: “We are especially grateful to CCADS, our volunteer helpers Luke, Nathan, Andrew, Nat and Joe and the hospitality offered by The Half Moon.
“This is the latest collaboration between Entertainment Events and CCADS to bring enjoyable and affordable music and drama raising money for our beneficiaries, and we are going to present more together throughout 2023.”
