OVERALL, Greatham Flower and Produce Show was a happy and successful event, say organisers.
Tricia Porter won the Pumphrey Cup and the Michael Wakeford Cup, Linda Powell won the Gardener’s Club Cup, and Rebecca Dowling won the Floral Art Cup and the Homecraft Cup.
Sid Newman won the Kemp Cup, the Len Pinnington Vase and the Todmore Cup, Gill Krawczuk won the Peter Catt Award, and Rosemary Blanchard won the Michael Wakeford Trophy.
Show secretary Sue Marriott said: “The number of entries remained high although the number of exhibitors dropped by about 20 per cent.
“The judges commented favourably on the standard of entries considering Greatham is a small village.
“The baking and jam classes were well supported, and flowers and vegetables had some excellent exhibits.
“Teas and the raffle reached the now expected high standards, and we are grateful to the hard work and time put in by those who organise and run the show.”
