Petersfield Community Garden has been awarded a Gold Medal for 2022 as part of the Stations in Bloom competition.

Community garden volunteers plant up and care for the vegetable, flower and herb planters at the station.

Passers-by are invited to pick what they need from planters that were installed there with the support of East Hampshire Community Rail Partnership.

A community garden spokesman said: “We're Volunteers having fun looking after the vegetable boxes and flower planters.

“The Free Shop at the station hub and other passers by have picked the herbs and vegetables.

“The hot summer needed a watering roster, most plants survived.

“The station staff help sort any big problems especially Alfie the SWR trainee.

“Come and join us when the weather improves.”
