THE LAUNCH of ‘Get Shipshape’ has taken place at Churcher’s College Junior School and Nursery in Liphook.

‘Get Shipshape’ is an exercise programme for mothers and babies run by experienced teachers from Churcher’s College. The programme launched with bookings for the first four weeks at £15, all of which will go to the King’s Arms Youth Project based in Petersfield. ‘Get Shipshape’ has raised £285 for the King’s Arms in a sell-out first block of sessions with 19 mums and eight little ones.

Head of Churcher’s College Junior School and Nursery Ffion Robinson said: “We recognise that mums want a class that fits in with their busy day, offers challenging exercise and fun.

“We wanted to create a fitness environment where you are comfortable having your baby with you, a space where they can make noise or move about without it being a problem. The response and sign up has been phenomenal. It is a great way to raise money for a good cause.”

The ‘Get Shipshape’ fitness programme was designed and run by Dan Cox and Kevin Maguire. It consists of circuit classes for all levels which can be adapted according to ability. The participants will improve cardiovascular conditioning and lean muscle toning.
