LISS Infant School’s Christmas Fair on Saturday was a big success, say organisers.

The fair was based on The Polar Express and had the steam engine Victoria, Empress of India, as well as several outside traders, face painting, a cake stall, a Snow Queen, Santa’s Grotto, mince pies and mulled wine.

The fair raised £2,970, which will go towards IT equipment at the school.

One of the organisers of the fair said: “We have had really positive feedback, and there was a lovely atmosphere on Saturday.

“There was a nice, gentle stream of people throughout the afternoon. The choir sang at 3.30pm, which went down very well.

“The face painting was also a huge hit and was done by some talented mothers.”
