IT WAS a family affair at Milland Gardening Club’s annual flower and produce show on Saturday for Ian and Ann Haussauer, who won a total of seven trophies between them.

Ann won the Winifred Lambe Medal for best in show for her collection of a wide variety of garden flowers.

She also won the Wayland Bowl for most points for flowers, the National Sweet Pea Society Medal for the best sweet pea exhibit and the Banksian Medal for the most prize money in divisions one, two and three.

Ian won the Simmons Cup for the most points in divisions one, two and three, the Silver Cup for the most points for vegetables and the Windibank Amateur Cup for the most points for vegetables, fruit and flowers.

Barbara Thornley won three trophies, and Christine Hill, Audrey Campbell, Julie Hood and Gwyn Jones were the other trophy winners.

Although entries were down in general, one judge said some of the entries were top quality. The trophies were presented by long-time supporter and life member of the club Les Lutman.
