The Barn Emporium, a new venture at Durleighmarsh Farm near Rogate, is to open its doors this July.
The project is the brainchild of Caroline Henslow, who lives with husband Martin on the farm.
Towards the end of last year, the large Victorian barn at the farm became vacant. Following months of hard work during the lockdown by the Henslow family owners to repair and refit the interior, it is now to re-open as a space for local independent traders, artisans and craftsmen.
The light airy barn has been divided into smaller affordable spaces which are rented out to independent businesses.
There are also tables, shelves and wall spaces available with a shared central till.
There will also be a separate room for workshops and pop-up events.
Caroline said: “We offer the ideal spring board for small entrepreneurs just starting out or those who are looking for a permanent retail space without the time commitments or high costs of a standalone retail unit. We aim to foster a dynamic community of like-minded people”
