FARM-THEMED activities – including Cow Pat Bingo and Chuck a Chicken – provided family fun in Buriton for more than 250 visitors.

There were also tractor rides, wheelbarrow races, races in giant sacks, stocks and wrestling in inflatable Sumo suits at the fundraising event at Bolinge Hill Farm, organised by Buriton’s playground committee and villagers.

Live music kept visitors entertained too, and there was plenty of food and drink on offer, including Bolinge Hill burgers on the barbecue, home-made cakes, ice-cream and thirst-quenchers at the bar. The farm machinery was on display, and more traditional attractions included a tombola and coconut shy.

The £1,700 raised will go towards providing a new playground on the village recreation ground. “It was brilliant having it at the farm and our thanks go to owner Susan Shone and her team for making it possible,” said organiser Karen White.
