CHRISTMAS came early to Liss Junior School in the form of its festive fayre.

The fayre took place last Friday and helped raise vital funds for the school’s parent-teacher association (PTA).

Pupils got involved on the day to help raise money.

Among the many activities on offer to visitors were a chocolate fountain, popcorn, Play Your Cards Right, pizza, cakes, toys, books, guess how many sweets in the jar, and honey from the school’s bees.

Liss Junior School headteacher Andy Burford said: “The fayre went really well and we raised around £1,000.

“The money is going to our PTA, which is fundraising for decking, a seating area and a food preparation area for our outdoor cob oven.

“There were lots of people at the fayre and it was a lovely afternoon for the children.

“It was pleasing that there were still so many people there at the end of the fayre.

“The children put in a great effort, and lots of families took advantage of the PTA cafe by the stalls.”
