Churcher’s College pupil Felix Berry raised £1,000 for The Rosemary Foundation to say thanks to the hospice-at-home charity for caring for his grandfather.

His quiz was also aimed at raising funds for his First Challenge Expedition to Croatia next July.

The 14-year-old helped set up tables and chairs in Sheet village hall, and cooked chilli with jacket potatoes for his guests.

And Felix, with help from his dad John, played the part of quizmaster on the night (pictured below).

Felix said: “It was very well attended by many friends, family and supporters of The Rosemary Foundation.

“We thank all those who supported the quiz night – and a big thank you to The Rosemary Foundation for doing what they do.”

Mother Sarah added: “We are over the moon to have raised £1,000 for The Rosemary Foundation.

“The charity is a cause very close to our hearts as they cared for Felix’s grandfather at the end of his life.

“We couldn’t be more grateful for their care, compassion and support at such a precious and difficult time.”

Felix is also well on the way to raising his share of his First Challenge Expedition to Croatia in July.

The challenge will see the students travel to Croatia, where the highlight will be a character-building wilderness trek over four to five days.

A Churcher’s College spokesman said: “The first opportunity to take part in an overseas expedition is at the end of the third year.

“Our First Challenge expeditions typically last between 12 to 24 days and involve a year of fundraising and training in the lead up to the trip over some of the more challenging terrains in Europe.”
