PETERSFIELD Festival Hall could host midweek concerts and comedy nights throughout 2019 if “hypothetical” proposals by Hometown Festivals are approved by councillors.
The group believes it can swell the town council’s coffers and bring new custom to the venue by staging more high-end cover acts at the hall on quieter nights of the week.
The group would need to sell 300 tickets at £20 to break even but would be confident of exceeding that figure, as 450 were sold for the recent What the Floyd concert which attracted fans from across the South.
Steve Jacobs put forward for the possibility of Hometown Festivals starting a partnership, with concert income being split 50-50 with the council if it waived the hire fee, during a meeting on Monday.
