A FIFTEEN year old boy from Bordon has been released on bail until November 30 following his arrest on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, aggravated vehicle taking and possession of an offensive weapon.
The incident relates to a motorbike stolen from Haslemere on August 24. The police received reports of a male rider with a pillion passenger riding around Liphook later that day. The arrest has also been linked to an incident of a motor bike being ridden on August 2 in a manner which caused damage to the vehicle.
Sergeant Griffiths of the Hampshire Police said these investigations have been progressed by the local Longmoor neighbourhood policing team. Sgt Griffiths wants to assure the community that the police are patrolling at key times and enlisting support from other departments to achieve this.
He added: “I would like to ask the community to help us by reporting incidents of anti-social behaviour involving motorbikes, theft of motor bikes and break-ins to sheds or garages.
“If you witness incidents or have CCTV or dash cam footage of incidents, this too is critical for progressing our enquires.
“Whilst we cannot achieve a positive outcome for all reports linked to this series, we do want to support and work with the community to tackle this behaviour.”
