THE NEWLY-launched Petersfield Bicycle Buddies is inviting people who started cycling recently, or are thinking of taking up bike riding, to join them for social and more serious rides.
This new group for those aged over 18 is supported by Cycling UK and hopes to get the wheels of Petersfield residents rolling.
Buddies chairman Lynn Paterson said: “Cycling helps us to get fit, make new friends, and reduce our carbon footprint.
“We are really excited about launching the scheme, and helping more people to get into cycling – no matter what level of ability or fitness, or type of cycling preferred.

Fury in Froxfield as East Hampshire landlord tells Labour MPs: "You're barred"“You could be a nervous or rusty rider, who is looking to team up with someone more experienced, or you could be a cyclist keen to find a buddy for leisure cycling, long-distance routes or even mountain biking.
“There will also be small group rides, and there are plans for assistance with bike maintenance.”
So if anyone needs a little encouragement to get back on their bike, or just wants to seize the opportunity to get involved, go along and meet the group on Saturday, July 3, from 10am to 2pm at Petersfield Heath (near the gates).
