FIRE engines from Petersfield and Liphook were called to what appeared to be an electrical fire in ceiling of the New Look clothes shop on the corner of Rams Walk and the High Street.

What was thought to be smoke was seen, said a customer.

Two fire tenders from Petersfield, and one from Liphook, were called to the scene on Monday, June 27, at about 4pm.

A fire brigade spokesman said it was unclear what the problem was.

The shop was expected to re-open later in the afternoon.
