FIRE fighters checking a house fire in Rogate was out, found a cannabis factory in a bedroom.
West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to the fire at a house on Parsonage Estate at about 7.30pm on Wednesday, November 16.
On arrival, they were told the occupant had extinguished it, but a fire officer touring the house to make sure it was out, found cannabis plants in various stages of production in one of the bedrooms.
The police were called, and arrived in force and immediately arrested a man at the house.
Dominic Shaw, 36, a musician, of Parsonage Estate, Rogate, has been charged with the production of cannabis. He is due to appear before Worthing Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, December 6.
