A BUSINESS support group for women is holding it’s first meeting in Petersfield on Wednesday.
Women On the Business Stage (WOBS) was founded by Claire Godwin Five years ago to help address the lack of female speakers at events.
Claire said: “Initially I set up WOBS as I was so frustrated with the all-male speaker panels I saw at events. I kept wondering where all the women were, so I decided to do something about it. I wanted to give women the encouragement and support they needed to claim the spotlight, helping them grow their confidence, skills and earnings.”
But since then WOBS has evolved into much more than speaking opportunities, which was its original aim.

Claire added: “WOBS mission is to support women to achieve their potential in business, politics and society by minimising and eliminating the barriers they face and by creating and maintaining a safe non-judgmental space for women to nurture and empower each other.”
The first Petersfield meeting is the ante room in the East Hampshire District Council offices at Penns Place on Wednesday, October 12, from 10am to 1pm, but visitors are asked to arrive at about 9.45am to ensure a prompt start.
